Wooden roof renovation
The signs that indicate the need for intervention on a wooden roof and that need to be interpreted are various and more or less evident depending on the case.
In the presence of an uninhabitable attic and a roof covering that is not visible, it is certainly more difficult to be able to read these signs and act in time before the damage worsens.
For this reason, an inspection of the attic is recommended from time to time in order to verify the state of conservation of the structure and the roof covering.

An unequivocal sign of the poor state of conservation of the structure of a wooden roof are the sloping pitches, a consequence of a serious weakening of the support beams and also recognizable from the outside of the building.
Another clue is the superficial alteration of the color or a localized deterioration in the wooden elements, possibly due to xylophagous fungi or insects.
If there is a continuous stain of humidity on the outside of the wall in correspondence with the flue, there will certainly be infiltrations from the chimney pot, which could establish weakening and rotting processes.

What documents are required for the renovation of the wooden roof?
With the introduction of the new unified communication modules for the start of work, for roof maintenance and all works in which it is not foreseen to modify the structure, such as the replacement of the roof covering only, the waterproofing layer or the joists, a CILA is enough certified by a technician.
In this specific intervention, having to completely replace the wooden structure, a SCIA was required, i.e. a certified notification of the start of activity accompanied by a technical report drawn up by a structural engineer with indications of the appropriate sizing
